We’re all concerned about the current crisis, but we should take heart in the efforts we are making to ensure a resilient and healthy community. Producing fresh healthy food locally is one way to protect ourselves in the face of major emergencies. We will continue to carry out our mission of promoting sustainable agriculture, advancing food justice and educating the public about environmental protection and health. These goals are as important now as ever before. With added safety measures in place, our CSA will be up and running as scheduled. We will keep you posted on the new protocols we implement as determined by the status of this situation at that time.
We are also moving forward with our popular farm-based STEAM-themed summer camp. We are preparing contingency plans if state or federal policies affect our ability to operate as normal. The health and safety of our children is a top priority. But we are hopeful that after being cooped up for several weeks, we will be able to provide campers with a good dose of the great outdoors. And our educational program will also help ensure that learning isn’t slowed by the disruptions at school.
We recognize that the current crisis will create hardship for many. Food justice is central to the Phillies Bridge mission. We offer discounted CSA shares and summer camp scholarships to families in need. Please contact us if you are in need of assistance. If you are fortunate enough that you are not harmed financially by the current crisis, we ask that you consider donating to support these programs. We must all work to support one another in these difficult times.
We look forward to seeing you at the farm.
